Stop the search, friend. You’ve found it! The Griffin House is one of the prettiest, most unique wedding venues in Hood River!

Perched on the cliffs above the Columbia River Gorge, The Griffin House offers jaw-dropping views surrounding the property, as well as a huge variety of beautiful backdrops for the wedding photos of your dreams, all just steps away from the festivities.

We were completely blown away by this venue in all of it’s cliffside perfection. Beauty around every corner. Views upon views upon views. Little pockets of goodness everywhere.”

After photographing Annie & Eric’s wedding day, we’re now completely obsessed with this venue and without hesitation have added it to our Curated List of Favorite Wedding Venues. Somebody take us back!

The Griffin House Through The Eyes Of A Fine Art Film Photographer

Annie & Eric’s day was planned and designed by the talented Jodie Stansbury of Aisle Ready Events. When she first reached out about the possibility of photographing this wedding, we had never been to The Griffin House. Where did we turn to learn more about it? Google of course! And what did we find? Well…not much in our style if we’re honest, and not much showing the incredible variety available at this location. (And, Dear Fellow Venue Researcher, we aim to change that for you with this post!)

At the time of writing, The Griffin House is still one of the newer venues to host weddings in the Hood River and greater Portland area. What we found is that before us, very few photographers had shot it in our fine art, true-to-color, light, bright, and romantic style. Most of what we found online were wedding photos with a darker and “moodier” aesthetic, which is basically the opposite of what we do haha, so we went in with fresh eyes, wanting to photograph The Griffin House in ways never done before. And well, by George, I think we’ve done it!

We were completely blown away by this venue in all of it’s cliffside perfection. There was so much more to this stunning location than meets the eye Google search. Beauty around every corner. Views upon views upon views. Little pockets of goodness everywhere.

A Guest Experience Like No Other

Your guests here are treated to a one-of-a-kind wedding experience. It’s almost like an “unveiling” as they move throughout your day, with each turn feeling prettier than the last! Annie & Eric’s guests were greeted with champagne as they arrived and took in the first gorgeous sight of the day—the dappled light dancing through the leaves in front of the house.

…guests begin to whisper about how pretty this venue is…”

With drinks in hand, guests continued along the stone paths towards the ceremony lawn. Turning the corner behind the house to see the cliffside seating area is almost surreal. With the Columbia River Gorge as the backdrop, guests begin to whisper about how pretty this venue is and how different it is than any other wedding they’ve attended before!

Following the ceremony, guests were invited to cocktail hour and served “his and her” signature drinks with custom stir sticks featuring the couple’s pup. So cute!

As night falls, guests retreat into the reception tent on the south lawn. Annie & Eric’s guests danced the night away among the lush florals artfully arranged by the talented Seventh Stem.
